Echoes- A place not less than a Magic
Hellozzz Awesome Readers,
Hope you all are doing good!! Guys last weekend i explored a magical place in Delhi. Being a super foodie, I am always in search for some magical or unique places. Be it a restaurant, café, club, amusement park, spa zone or a dhabba may be. And this time my search stopped at Satyaniketan, New Delhi. If you guys wouldn’t have guessed the restaurant name yet then here is a hint 😉

Any guesses??
Guys i assure you that after reading this post you feel like going to this place for sure and I will tell you the reason why 🙂
Restaurant name is Echoes, it is located in Satyaniketan which is in South Delhi. Echoes it means Gunj in hindi, and hats off to their owners Kshitij Behl and Shivansh Kumar for doing an incredible job by employing a staff who are deaf and mute. Yes, guys you read it right! This is one and only restaurant in Delhi where you will get served by Deaf and Mute staff. And it really requires so much courage to initiate something like this and creating such an effective and elaborated system of communication.
I am sure there is ton number of cafes in Delhi these days, some serve you with great offers, awesome food, some have extraordinary ambience, great crowd. But the thing that makes me drive from all the way from Ghaziabad to Delhi is there in its name “Echoes” And the fact that it is fully managed by deaf and mute staff.
Most of you may be now thinking of how is it even possible, how will you call the waiter, how will you place your order; it must be quite challenging conveying your message to someone who can’t talk or listen. But let me try to answer all your curiosity questions here:-
You must have heard or have seen sign language somewhere, no no don’t worry you don’t have to learn a sign language to get an entry here 😛 . But all the waiters at this restaurant are well trained with sign language and lip reading.

Special Signs for Special people 🙂
There is a button available at every desk to call a waiter. And once you will press that button it switches on the light bulb at the bill counter.

Press a button to light a bulb 🙂
You place your order by writing it on a notepad, which will be given to you along with the menu card. For other things like Spoon, Fork, Knife, clean the table, Bill etc. they have special placards which can be used to convey your message to a waiter.

Placards
Ambience- A place is located on the first floor, filled with colors, along with large posters on the wall & Dim lights with nice play tracks.
But I think Ambience could have been little better.
My Ratings= 3.5/5
Things to Remember- 1) Prior booking are not an option here, as seating is on first come basis.
2) They do have a separate smoking area.
3) They don’t serve Hookah
My Ratings-5/5
Location- 1) Satyaniketan is located in South Delhi, Opposite Venkateshwara (Venky) college.
2) If you’re coming via metro then the nearest metro station is Aiims.
My Ratings-4/5 I gave 4/5 just because of an on-going construction at satyaniketan which is directly or indirectly affecting the restaurants business there.
Seats- It’s a medium sized café, and have seating for around 30-35 people.
My Ratings- 5/5
Cuisine- It’s a casual dining restaurant, where you will get your food served on platters. Here you will find majority of Continental food. And Waffle is one of their specialty and it’s a must try item.
My Ratings-5/5
Price& Portion- INR1000 (Per couple) and they serve good portions.
My Ratings- 5/5 are based on a price which I found worth for the portions you will get served with.
My total rating for this place is 4.5/5, as it satisfies your hunger buds and that too without making a hole in your pocket. You will find almost all the items here at par excellence.
