SoDelhi Confluence 2017 at The Lalit Delhi
Hello My Awesome Readers,
I know I am bit late with this post but its better late than never. So far, SoDelhi Confluence 2017 event at The Lalit happened to be my First Event which I have attended till now. Since the day I have started blogging, I have received few event invites earlier too. However unfortunately for some reason or other I wasn’t able to attend them. But this time when I received a mail from So-Delhi I was truly astonished as I started blogging since few months back only and receiving an invite for such a great event is an award in itself. And I knew this was one of the events not to be missed.
For those who don’t know which event I am referring to, The SoDelhi organised an event called “The SoDelhi Confluence” on 5th Aug 2017 at The Lalit Delhi Sponsored by Infocus. This event was an invite only meant and meant for Bloggers, around 800 bloggers were selected for this event. And yes, I am proud I was one of them. All thanks to So-Delhi Team 🙂
A day before the event I was quite confused about what to wear as we girls usually don’t find clothes to wear in our wardrobes 😛 Finally after a huge mess I decided to wear Beige Colour Gown which I recently bought from Myntra and with some subtle makeup. I opted for nude as it was a day event and that too a formal one. So minimalist was the key. And for the jewelry I picked up my diamond danglers. You can also find the complete outfit details at the end of this post.
On an event day-
We all had to reach there by 10:00am and event had to start by 11:00am. The time I reached and gave my car keys at the porch, I was thinking what shall I be doing here till evening as I don’t have any blogger friends with whom I can sit and can pass some time. And I believe many of you can relate with me as we all do follow so many bloggers or influencers on this digital world like Instagram, Facebook or Twitter. But neither they know us personally nor we. But events like these makes you come closer to the ones whom you have been following or may be stalking LOL 😀
The moment I entered inside, I went through the smooth process of Registration Confirmation and then entered the hall which was enormously filled with the Bloggers, Influencers & Vloggers. And everybody was busy in clicking pictures & posing. Some of them who may got tired of clicking went for some munching. The Lalit had an arrangement for Breakfast, Lunch and Evening Snacks with drinks.
The event started almost on time and till that time I had made friends with some of the bloggers 😉 The event started with the Travel session and the panelists were:-
- Ajay Jain from “Kunzum Café”
- Himanshu Sehgal from “My Yellow Plate”
- Ajay Sood from Travelure.in and
- Philippa Kaye from Memsahib in India.
They discussed all about Travel Blogging and how one can earn through travelling. They even shared their experiences, initial hurdles. Like Himanshu Sehgal from “My Yellow Plate” shared one of his experiences where he approached to a particular brand and did a blunder and then how did he managed to get over it and came up with a successful campaign. Ajay Jain from “Kunzum Café” also shared his journey from a salaried employee to an entrepreneur.
At the end of this session, I was feeling happy about my decision to be a part of this knowledgeable event. As everyone who was a part of the panel had so much to share and speak about.
The Key Points-
Following are the key points which I personally grabbed from this session:-
- Don’t write just for the brands, write for your readers.
- Don’t just approach to brands in hurry, everything takes time. Right people will reach you when your time comes.
- Focus on your Brand Identity and keep on nurturing it.
- Be consistent in what you are doing.
- Try to be unique or different from others. Don’t just copy, create your own style.
- Make sure whatever you write; just be genuine and true to your readers.
- For any collaboration, think like an entrepreneur. The world is a bitch and we should accept it.

- Insta stories disappear after 24 hours, so you never feel you are over posting.
GO LIVE
- Live is a supper fun way to connect Real Time with your friends and followers and bring them to you in that moment.
- When you are done, your live story disappears from the app so you can feel more comfortable in sharing anything, anytime without being worry.
- You can also save the stories to your phone for later.

After all the Insta Gyan we then had a session with
- Pretty Little Things By Aakriti Rana Gill and Shaurya Sanadhya.
I am sure their names are not quite new to many of the readers here 🙂. As I also love their videos. They shared many of their secrets regarding Vlogs.
The Key Points-
Following are the key points which I personally grabbed from their session:-
- For making Vlogs, one don’t need to have a separate camera, you can even make Vlogs with your phone.
- Make sure you keep on posting on regular basis. And if you can decide of a particular day in a week to post that will be great.
- Check on the most trending content and post it accordingly.
- Cross Promote your Youtube Channel through other social media channels.
- Try to be genuine and more interactive in your videos.
- Before posting your video on your channel, check that the lightings are correct or not. The message you are trying to convey should be easily understandable.
- You just need one video to get Viral.
After this session it was a time for some Food Bloggers, where the panelists were:-
- Sahiba Gursahane from TastingFork.com
- Ashish Kapoor Founder of Yo China
- Gurpreet Singh Tikku from Mistertikku.com
- Anahita Dhondy chef from Soda Bottle Opener Wala
- Karishma Gupte Director at PR Pundit
The Key Points-
Following are the key points which I personally grabbed from their session:-
- Anyone can monetize through food blogging, just make sure you should not just restrict yourself to only Restaurants. Pitch to food brands, Hotels etc.
- Going to a restaurant and asking them to serve you for free because you are going to review them, is not a sign of a food blogger.
- Food blogger does a complete research about a particular cuisine he/she is going to review.
- While writing a review about any restaurant, one should interact with its chef, its staff to understand more about the place.
- Try to be different from others; don’t do what others are already doing. Create your own Niche.
There was one more session By Shivya Nath who is a Travel Blogger which unfortunately I missed, as I had some prior commitments. So can’t share the details of that session here.
Overall, the “SoDelhi Confluence” event was nice; this location (The Lalit) has always been one of my favorite as My Sagan ceremony had happened here, my daughter’s first Birthday had been celebrated here. So I already have so many memories of this place, and have always loved Lalit’s Hospitality. SoDelhi’s Team tried their best to manage the event well and they even succeeded in achieving that too.
Just one thing which I didn’t like about the event was that there was no one to help in creating or managing the queue at the time of LUNCH, which was quite annoying. So we thought of clicking some pictures instead of getting crushed in the crowd 😛
