Tips to Stay Healthy During Monsoon Season
Monsoon season is one of the seasons we all crave for, and I am glad I stay in a country like India where I get to cherish and experience all the 4 seasons. Be it summers, winters, spring or Monsoon. The beautiful sky and cool breeze is something we all wait for long.
And so want to get rid of the scorching summer heat. And when finally it arrives we get stuck up with seasonal infections like Cold and Cough, Stomach infection, Diarrhea, Fever, Malaria, Dengue, Typhoid etc.
So here I will tell you some quick and easy tips to Stay Healthy & Fashionable during Monsoon Season.
Here in this post, let’s concentrate on being healthy first. Then I will share how you can stay Fashionable during monsoon season in my next post.
Following are few things you should avoid eating during monsoon season:-
- Street Food & Junk Food- I know how difficult it is to avoid something you love the most. But street food & Junk food is one of the major cause for Seasonal infections during Monsoon Season. The street vendors usually cut the vegetables and fruits in advance and leave them in open which invites the bacteria and attract contaminated damp air. Causing in stomach infections, diarrhea, fever, cold and cough.
- Sodas- One should try to avoid carbonated drinks and I personally believe one should start avoiding sodas not only during monsoon season but try to avoid it wherever it is possible. Aerated drinks are not at all good for health. These drinks just reduce the necessary minerals in your body which are required for a healthy digestion. Try to drink Water, coconut water, butter milk or fresh homemade juices instead.
- Outside Salads and Juices- I myself preferably avoid eating outside salads and juices. Especially during Monsoon season it is a “BIG NO”. As all the outside vendors cut and keep the fruits and vegetables open in advance. And you are not even aware that they have washed the vegetables or fruits properly or not. Yes, the salads and juices are healthy and one should eat it regularly but not from outside. If you really want to stay healthy, especially during Monsoon Season where every another friend of yours is getting sick try to follow these easy tips.
Last but not the least Eat and Drink Healthy
Monsoon has a special connection with fried food and tea. We all know that fried food is not healthy but once in a while its acceptable and manageable too with wellness infusion Tea from TE-A-ME.
They have some great range of Wellness infusion teas, Fruit and Flower infusion Teas, Natural Green Teas and Signature Black Teas.
Wellness infusion Teas come in 2 flavors– Cardamom Turmeric and Ginger Tulsi Honey
They both are my favorites. Ginger Tulsi honey will be beneficial for cold, flu, digestion and sore throat. Whereas, the cardamom turmeric is a perfect wellness blend to flush out the toxins and improves your digestion.
I recently got introduced with this company called TE-A-ME and just fell in love with all of their products. It is a 70 years old fine tea company, founded by Madhu Jayanti. She has researched and understand the specific taste profiles of Indian people and concentrated in developing products that suit a variety of taste choices. Their company firmly believes that tea is a versatile drink that can evoke a variety of feelings and emotions with every sip. And TE-A-ME is their initiative towards bringing out the functions of tea to consumers around the world. They believe that tea tastes best when unadulterated with artificial flavors and additives – therefore all their teas are made up from 100% Natural Ingredients and REAL spices.
TE-A-ME infusion teas are a must have for those who love to stay healthy as well as don’t want to compromise on their taste buds. I have been drinking their teas on everyday basis and i shall thank Jhilmil from www.mommyinme.com and Sayeri from www.sayeridiary.com for introducing me with this brand. Me and my family is quite happy with its taste and benefits. If you also want to give it a try, you can buy it either from their website https://www.teameteas.com/shop or you can buy it from Amazon https://www.amazon.in/TE-ME-Chamomile-Infusion-Bags/dp/B00P62VDI0

Everyone mentioned about junk food and all but you mentioned one important point Soda. I think it is harmful in every season not only monsoon. It should be avoided in each and every season.

Good points Nimisha. I am a big fan of pani puri, but come monsoon and I stop eating roadside chat and panipuri. Also, I consume more of ginger as you have suggested. Have tried Tea-Me teas, but not the flavours you have suggested. I have chamomile and green tea mango. One more thing I do is wash my hands and legs with Dettol soap once I come back from outside.

You are right, during Monsoon we have to control our taste buds. If we really want to enjoy the season by staying healthy then little bit of patience is necessary.
Soda has taken the front seat these days. It’s good that you mentioned about that as well along with street, fried food.

Wear comfortable clothes and specially comfortable innerwer during monsoon. i love wearing intimate nation since their fabric is soft, plus it is anti microbial and anti perspirant and thus great to wear during the sticky humid weather. https://intimatenation.com
